I had to tighten the bolts on the drop bracket for the track bar today. on the top of the bracket where it bolts to the crossmember there is about 6 or 7 washers between the bracket and the cross member. I'm thinking that these shouldn't be there, but I'm not sure. Anyone else know for sure? Oh my truck has a 4-6 inch lift kit on it, don't know what brand. it was put in by one of the previous owners.

No you should not have washers between your drop bracket and crossmember!

It is probally a drop bracket for a 4" lift and spaced out to accomadate a 6".

So would it hurt to remove the washers or should I get different drop bracket?

Either remove the washers and get an adjustable trac bar or you could get a bracked for a 6" lift. Think you will have to do a 3rd gen conversion to do a trac bar.

do whatever you need to get it a tight as possible , then weld it, they will always work loose.

Yeah tacking it will not hurt they do have a habit of working loose but get rid of tge washers for sure!
