I have noise that just got a lot worse today. It kind of sounds a bit like stones in a hub cap but louder. It's a real clunk when I'm turning left but it increases in frequency with vehicle speed but it's only present when under acceleration. I wasn't sure that it wasn't the turbo going south but the more I listened the more I was sure it wasn't so I pulled the truck into 4H and sure enough with the load spread across both drive axles the noise was much quieter. Is this most likely the rear driveshaft universals?

when I jacked the backend of the truck up I could twist the driveshaft and the pinion yoke in opposite directions. I had the U joint replaced. Cost me more than $300.
