I believe most aftermarket wastegates bolt on where the egr cooler used to be. Also to my knowledge they are just an adjustable pressure release, they don't monitor the drive pressure per say.

Yeah, the wastegate itself does not monitor the drive pressure, nut I plan on installing a gauge to monitor it and was not sure where to install the sensor.

Great question... also, what should the max drive pressure be? Lets say on a 12 with deletes and a mm... maybe arp 425 studs... And am I right to assume that if the drive pressure is higher than boost you are losing performance and efficiency?

I believe its a 1:1 ratio you want...ex--30 lbs boost you want 30-35psi dp. Someone please correct me if I am wrong on that.

If you see high dp then thats when your top end starts separating causing HG issues

yes and no. The stock VGT was designed in mind to have high drive pressures for exhaust brake functions and emissions control. With the VGT, expect 45+ psi drive pressure at max boost. With an aftermarket turbo, 1:1 is ideal but usually ratios of up to 1:1.2 are acceptable. The stock VGT can have ratios of 1:1.8+
