There isn't anything you can do. I had a decent filter on mine, but all it did was collect water. Soot is so small that the filter would have to be sub-micron to start to be effective.

If the system is good there shouldn't be an issue as there shouldn't be any air flowing. But if you have an air leak then you can get soot to travel.

When I grease my truck I usually take the air line off the gauge and blow backwords at 90-100 psi to clear the line of anything.

Water is a bigger issue with the DP than soon, IMHO.. My gauge freezes if the temps get below 30*, there is enough water in the line from the condensation that collects when the copper cools.
