the pump can produce the volume. but it alters the timing a bet thus the lopey idle. some have it worse than others. BUT if you go the a HR or a Monster, since the pump puts more pressure and volume its highly recomended. On a SO pump it will help out IF you have HUGE sticks and a major fuel box. other than that it just gives it the lopey idle. Just my.o2.

Ive ran them on a SO pump, HRVP, and a Monster. and everything has been fine.

The edge filter in the connector tube causes a restriction. It is there to atomize small dirt particles. Open connector tubes, reduce the amount of time necessary to deliver the fuel to the injector. Timing is actually slowed (retarted) a small amount, due to the extra time it takes to fill the increased size of the area.

Injection duration is also shortened a little with open tubes, and decreases with larger injectors as well. Fuel delivery to the injector takes less time to complete. For example if injection duration in stock form was 40 crankshaft degrees of duration, it may be 34 degrees with open tubes and larger injectors.

Bigger lines also add to the effect. You only have a certain amount of time to burn the fuel, so burning more quicker is the key to performance.

Looked down them more times than I can count. Your not gonna gain any flow and your more than likely gonna cause a lopey idle and possibly hurt driveability and maybe power as well. Same goes with larger lines. They don't help power on these VP trucks. All they do is cause lopey idles and poor driveability.
i agree 100%.....i have yet to see anyone make any extra power with bigger tubes and or larger lines in the 5 years reading these forums on a SO vp or a HRVP

now the monster may be a different story...not sure

The connector tube is about 4 1/2 inches long and the stock hole is about 1/16 not sure what the stock injector line size is.

I am debating if I should put in just the connector tubes for the pull tomorrow or wait till I get my injector lines.

im not 100% sure but i believe stock lines are .078. the only way i believe you will actually benifit from larger tubes is HUGE injectors that require alot of flow. other than that i believe you just get the lopey idle. Ive never dynoed or actually ran down the qtr to prove anything but it would be intresting to do. again just my .02

I would think the most they could really help is maybe a little throttle response.

If it didnt have any affect then there wouldnt be a market for them and people wouldnt sell them. I think rollin coal hit it on the head though, can the pump supply the volume. We will see, got the connector tubes drilled today and as soon as the lines get here I will get it all put on and report the findings.
Sure there is. People THINK they need bigger tubes and lines. People THINK they help. Thus, if people THINK they need these things, then the market is gonna supply them regardless of whether or not they work.

I know for a FACT Van Haisley wont put something on someones truck just to make a buck. I am not saying every application needs over sized lines and connector tubes. But at the end of the day if I edge someone out by a 1/2 inch and I have them and he doesnt was it worth it? Every truck is different not all trucks will respond the exact same way to the same parts. Thats why we have to all experiment and find out what works for us. :thumbsup

I'm betting that you could chalk that 1/2" up to a lot more than connector tubes. ;)

Thats why I bought a 2nd set of tubes. So If it doesnt work out the stockers go back on.

i agree with you devildog. from my experience in modifying cars/trucks/4 wheelers. whatever it may be. a set up that works for one guy might not for another. im gonna give it a whirl and if it works then sweet and if it doesnt, then atleast i tried and ill put stockers back in it.
