Well I got my connector tubes today and got the edge filters drilled out. I took a 5/32 bit and drilled in a little ways then took a 3/32 bit and went in a little further. Some of the edge filters came out w/ the bit but if it doesn't you can take a 1/16 dowel and tap it out from the opposite end. I couldn't get it to tap out with out drilling it first. I am a little intimidated to drill out the connector tube, going to see how much the machine shop will charge to do it.

More fuel flow. If you have ever looked down a stock connector tube you would understand. I dont even see how fuel got through there!

If it didnt have any affect then there wouldnt be a market for them and people wouldnt sell them. I think rollin coal hit it on the head though, can the pump supply the volume. We will see, got the connector tubes drilled today and as soon as the lines get here I will get it all put on and report the findings.

The connector tube is about 4 1/2 inches long and the stock hole is about 1/16 not sure what the stock injector line size is.

I am debating if I should put in just the connector tubes for the pull tomorrow or wait till I get my injector lines.

Sure there is. People THINK they need bigger tubes and lines. People THINK they help. Thus, if people THINK they need these things, then the market is gonna supply them regardless of whether or not they work.
I know for a FACT Van Haisley wont put something on someones truck just to make a buck. I am not saying every application needs over sized lines and connector tubes. But at the end of the day if I edge someone out by a 1/2 inch and I have them and he doesnt was it worth it? Every truck is different not all trucks will respond the exact same way to the same parts. Thats why we have to all experiment and find out what works for us. :thumbsup

I'm betting that you could chalk that 1/2" up to a lot more than connector tubes. ;)

I got mine for $45 from a guy one here parting out a truck. I had $60 in drilling them out, took it to a machine shop and they did it on a lathe.

Alright fellas here is what I found out. Got the lines and connector tubes installed took the truck for a run. It does not smoke near as much as with stock lines. Idle didn't seem to change much. Fuel pressure only dropped to 14 psi @ WOT it was 13 psi @ WOT w/ stock lines. Truck tries to die when put into gear. When letting out of the throttle quickly the truck tries to die. When pulling into my driveway (slight incline) you have to put your foot on the brake and give it some throttle to keep it from dieing. I am only running 150 horse injectors so it might be better with bigger ones. Piggy bank it empty so that will be a test for a later day. I plan on putting stock lines back on with the bigger connector tubes to see if it drivable that way.

I am not sure about top end boost I know I gained about 4 psi on the bottom end. I can hit 10 psi before I start to spin the tires. It was 6 before.

The connector tube is in the head between the injector and the injector lines.

Alright, changed the lines back to stock but left the .093 connector tubes in. Havent got to go run it hard yet. But inital results are truck does not die when put in gear. Smoke looks like it is cleared up a little (from stock). Will post more when I get a few good runs in.

I am convinced if you have bigger injectors you need bigger connector tubes to get the most out of your injectors. Did a boosted launch @ 10 psi and had to be light on the throttle to keep the wheels from spinning right off the truck, locked up the converter and hammered it breaking the tires loose at each gear held steady @ 54 psi When I hit 3400 rpm I backed out of the throttle and I felt the truck settle back down from all the torque it had on it. It was a pretty crazy run. The smoke was not bad but more than stock tubes and fuel psi held @ 13 WOT. The only down side I have found is when decelerating between 50 and 40 with very light throttle it gets very jerky I unlocked my torque converter (I have a full manual valve body) and it went away.

not to choose sides or cause problems but ive had a couple injector makers tell me to run bigge tubes to their injectors. Even Mike the maker of the monster pump told me to run at least .093 with his injectors and its a must with his pump and injectors. just my .o2
I have been told the exact same thing, and I tried it and I believe. All I am going to say is... Come pull/race your daily driver against mine!! :T:

If my pump wasn't screwed I'd be happy to race ya. That, and if you didn't live 1000 miles away. :lol3:
