I just have to get on here and express my pleasure in dealing with these guys. As you can see I'm a newbie when it comes to diesels. Ray at Draconian emailed me back and forth for almost a month making sure that I was getting the right set up and tunes for what I wanted. I ended up going with the mileage tune, the performance tune, the heavy towing tune and the big tire tune. I got the Sinister EGR delete, Flowpro 5" TBE and the H&S XRT Pro tuner. While installing the EGR delete the bolt that holds the bracket onto the exhaust manifold was threaded incorrectly and ended up snapping off in the head. I had to helicoil it and I contacted Sinister and they had the correctly threaded bolt to me in just a couple of days. The exhaust went without a hitch and looks and sounds great. While installing the tuner I ran into a problem due to the after market remote start. The ECM completely shut the truck down. After talking with H&S and trying resetting everything I FedExed the tuner and the ECM to H&S and they had it back to me in less than 2 days. All it cost me was shipping it to them. They paid to overnight back to me and would have covered the cost of a rental car if I would have needed transportation while my truck was down. Now that everything is hooked up and installed I couldn't be happier. Ray from Draconian and I still talk even though its been over 2 months since I bought it. Draconian means what they say when they say you're not just a customer you're a friend. I had heard that H&S had great customer service but they blew me away with how friendly, helpful and fast they were. They called to make sure everything was working good the next day. If anyone out there is on the fence about what set up to buy I would advise talking to the guys at Draconian Diesel and tell them what you want and they'll hook you up with the best tunes and hardware for your needs. 5 stars out 5 five stars. H&S and Sinister are great too. I won't buy from anyone else for any parts my Cummins 6.7 needs. If you buy from Draconian you don't have to worry about anything except which tunes to get. They are AWESOME!!!

I can't say that I'm sorry enough about the issues that you had. I'm extremely glad that H&S & Sinsiter both stepped up and took care of u. That has to be the worst case of luck I have ever heard of though. I mean you had an issue with two of the most full proof products on the market..

I'm glad your up and going now. Make sure and give ray a hard time for me....

That's always a good feeling when people go out of there way to alleviate some of your stress. Glad you got taken care of. It's nice to know there are people out there that care more about the customer than just the product and the money.

It wasn't anything that was really the fault of H&S or Sinister although the thread pitch on that bolt was way off. I'm extremely pleased with everything. If anything I know that they will stand behind their products in case something catastrophic goes wrong with them. And that Sinister blue looks so good under the hood.

Yep. This is worst case of luck with product installation I've ever seen too and to top that off it happened to one of the nicest guys I've ever known! Glad its all worked out and you've got your truck running the way it should now. H&S and Sinister indeed both make great products but even with the best there can be a hiccup. Its then when customer service counts and both those companies have it. I remember the very first time I flash tuned a truck and boy was I nervous. Its nice to know there's backup when you need it! I haven't forgotten my experiences with my first upgrades and that's why I don't mind helping someone every step of the way. My goal is to make tuning a truck headache free and fun. Jason I'm glad you let us be part of it despite the challenges.:)

I have a Viper remote start/anti theft. Not sure which model number. H&S said that anything that can cause a dip in voltage could shut it down. He told me that they've seen a cell phone charger do it. Just pull the fuse before you tune and you'll be fine.

Its for this reason that every time I flash a test file I have somewhat of a "ritual" I go through (everything off, doors closed, at temp, in garage, etc). Good job for all involved getting it handled quick and efficiently.

That's good advice. I certainly second that.

:agree2: he's exactly right. You gotta be "Rain Man" when you do this and have an exact ritual with no changes. If you don't know who rain man is either I'm too old or you're too young :hehe:. I'm probably too old. The only other thing I do besides Tomey's basic ritual is I add a battery charger. That's what I did on day one and I still do it.

Crap, I forgot to mention the "elective" steps. -Grab lawn chair and cooler, -procure adult beverage from said cooler, -kick back (with feet on cooler) and enjoy the silence until the tell-tale "sching-sching" of the turbo VGT letting you know your truck is happy again. :hehe:

EDIT - good idea on the charger, Guess I never thought about it but some of these trucks are getting to the age the batterys could be going out. Good insurance really.

Not so much the age of the batteries it's the crap quality of them it seems. I have had bad luck with truck, boat and RV batteries and they are all Interstate. Maybe it's just my magnetic personality :rof. Given all the stuff these truck have now in them besides just a dome light that comes on can't be too careful. I'd agree with Phil there too do it no matter what.

That's funny. Tom I'm sure you can appreciate how busy life can be with this stuff and mixing being a husband n father along with it. I'm just the opposite of your quote there and you'd be surprised what can get done it the 10-12 minutes waiting on that truck to flash.:)

I can't lie I am very apprehensive about tuning it now. Even though I know it will work if I do everything right I also know that butt puckering feeling when everything goes black. lol. That's why a mini maxx is in my future so I can tune on the fly. Thanks Ray from Draconian for putting that idea in my head.
