Hi everyone - new to the forum.

I have a 2013 4500 with around 65K miles and continue to get a check engine light indicating my Diesel Particulate Filter is operating below emissions.

I first had this problem about 2 months ago and my local Dodge dealer replaced the filter for about $5k (under warranty). Now, just a few days ago my CE light came on and the dealer is telling me it is the same issue.

They're saying once again they will have to change out the DPF. Has anyone else had this issues? I'm getting scared as my warranty is coming closer to its mileage limitation and my truck is the bread and butter of my business.

Your input is appreciated!

Is you truck not using any DEF? Maybe you are babying it too much and not getting it warmed up or something? It seems crazy a DPF could go tango uniform that fast. I am not, by any means, questioning the truth of your statement. I just think there has to be something else wrong with the truck to do this kind of damage this quickly.

Thanks for the replies.

The truck is bone stock other then a Deweze pump that operates the tow lift. I do warm it up every morning for about 10 minutes, then it is used continuously for about 150-250 miles of off and on towing. I repo cars so there is a lot of stop and go driving as I am in in residential areas for the most part.

As for the DEF, I pour about 2.5 gallons in a week. I have only had the refill light come on about 3 times.

Sounds like your dealer is stupid...probably a sensor issue...dpfs dont go bad consitently after 15k miles. Semis use them for 500k plus miles.

No...here's a story...I had my dpf stolen along with the sensors...The claim came to be 8300 for everything including labor. The dpf was 4600 and all the sensors were about 1500. So I would tell them to take their head out of their arse and clean the dpf and replace the dp and o2 sensors.

I get about 800 mpg from my DEF with mixed towing. At the rate I burn DEF, I'd have to do about 400 mi /day to be in his shoes, so 2.5 gal a week isn't unheard of, especially if he's towing.
