Looking at dropping a new touch screen head unit in my 07 SLT, no Nav.
Who's put a new double din in a SLT without buying the whole new dash bezel?
Install kit from crutchfield appears to account for the small opening, have to cut out the dash below the factory stereo and it take sup the little pocket area too. I'm good with that, but recall others saying you have to buy a new bezel for a truck with OE Nav or a custom one.
Does the install on these look decent? IE covers up all openings?
Any help or experience appreciated.
Thanks.

Without an install kit you will need to fabricate something to fill the openings on the side of the radio. I wish I had been more careful cutting the bottom of the dash.

Yeah you gotta modify or buy a nav unit bezel. I purchased a custom bezel from Weedahoe (Google it) so I could keep the dash pocket. Been happy with it. There might be photos somewhere on the forum. If not I'll put one up later.

I choked and got an Alpine stock sized CD player.
Excellent unit but they couldn't have made the buttons smaller if they tried.

They could... they could make a single DIN touch screen interface with very small hot spots for touch:grin2:

Sorry for the late response, but I just received a PAC BKCDK651 bezel that I ordered the other day. It has an outer flange to cover the "Micky Mouse ears" left over from the base factory radio, and includes an integrated (albeit smaller) pocket cubby so you don't have to totally give that feature up. The kit also comes with a throwaway snap-in cutting template, which makes seeing how much (about 1/8") of plastic you need to shave from each side of the dash panel for the bezel to fit properly.

There are pictures of both silver and wood grain dashboards in the Amazon customer reviews section:

I'm waiting for my cordless Dremel to charge as I write this, but can post pictures when I finish cutting if anyone wants to see it.....
