Hi guys looking for any info on this. I was told by the emissions guy that my truck needs a cat. I cant find anything under the hood that says anything about a cat. Any help would be great. Thanks

I was told that they started out in 94 with them and stopped when the 24 valve came out. Unreliable source of course

Yes the 1994-1998 12 does have a catalytic converters. 1994 models built from July 1993 to January 1, 1994 do not have catalytic converters. Catalytic converter were added after Jan 1, 1994. 2nd gen 24v's don't have catalytic converters.

Is there a sticker under the hood for it if so then where would it be?

There would be a sticker (I think) that says Catalyst or non-catalyst. Just my .02

Hi guys talked to the state emissions people yesterday and turns out rbratby was right. 94-98 12 valve needs a cat and the 24 valve dont. Thanks for all your help.

Probably different emission requirements for diffrent regions of the country in those years, that might be one possibility.
