Was looking at a CFM intake and says it wont work with hydro brake booster.

So since i have only had the truck for a month i know very litte about this truck and was wondering how to tell what i have.

The truck is a 97.

The 97 cummins diesel's had hydro-boost units. You can tell by looking at your master cylinder. If you have a unit between the master cylinder and the firewall that has several hydraulic lines from the power steering pump going to it you have a hydroboost unit instead of the vacuum booster. Diesels use the hydroboost unit because diesel engines make no vacuum. hope this helps.

Vacuum boosted brakes SUCK.

Literally and figuratively. 1st gen brakes are connected to the vacuum pump on the master cylinder.
