I'm confused about what you're trying to gain in this post. The truck is updated from a 4th gen but doesn't share most of the cab structure of the 5th gen halftons. Call it whatever you want to call it.

And I'm betting all my money that the '24s will have a 6.7 liter diesel with either the same or more power

This has been discussed several times over, at the end of the day FCA still considers the current 2500/3500 trucks to be the same generation as the 10-18 trucks. And rather then put out a well laid out argument explaining in detail as to why that is, only to be ignored, i'll leave it at that. Per the manufacturer, the current 2500/3500 trucks are the same platform and generation as the older trucks.

What's your point?
The title of this section is 4.5 Generation 2019+. The 4.5 gen has differences from the 4th gen and so far there is no 5th gen. Your opening "downgraded" statement doesn't make sense.
