disconnecting tranny cooler lines????

554 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  emwrench
My tranny cooler has a small leak so i picked up another one at the scrap yard. But instead of disconnecting the lines from the rubber lines they hacked of the rubber lines. Is there a way of disconnecting the rubber lines from the aluminum lines that go to the cooler and hooking them back up again or do i need to get new rubber lines. I dont know if they are crimped on to the cooler lines or not.
Thanks:confused013:

Return the junkyard cooler and buy a new one. You could be contaminating your fluid with who-knows-what from that old cooler. Flushing a cooler is also a questionable act if you talk to a trans shop. A new cooler is expensive until you compare it to the price of a complete trans rebuild and then a new cooler anyway.
