Ok all you diamond plate lovers out there ... this one goes out to you!!

This diamond plate was oxidadized, stained, cloudy, and really was in a need for a good polish.

Products:
-"UDM" (Ultimate Detailing Maching DA Buffer
-Lake Country 4 Ply 100% Twisted Wool Compounding Pad
-Lake Country 50/50 Wool Acrylic Polishing Pad
-Lake Country Electrified White Sheepskin Final Polishing Pad
-Wolfgang MetallWerk™ Fine Aluminum Polish
-Wolfgang MetallWerk™ Concours Aluminum Polish
-Wolfgang MetallWerk™ Concours Metal Sealant

Process:
Wipe Down w/ Poor Boys Waterless Wash (Spray & Wipe)
Tape Off All Moldings, Lights, Trim, Etc.
Began Polishing w/ 4 Ply Twisted Wool Pad & the Fine Aluminum Polish w/ maching set at Speed 6

Once satisfied with the results, wiped off all residue.

Polished w/ 50/50 Pad & Fine Aluminum Polish Again. Again ... Once satisfied, wiped off all residue

Polished w/ Finishing Polishing Pad & Concours Aluminum Polish. Once satisfied, wiped off all residue.

Applied aluminum sealant by hand to whole area, and buffed off. I will apply about coat of sealant tomorrow, but sealant needs 12 hours to cure.

Heres some before pictures ...

I hate diamond plate period! When I look back on how much time I wasted trying to keep that stuff as nice as yours I become sad. I went to stainless in every possible application I could find. Bigger bucks up front but way less time polishing.

Excellent post though for those of you who love the stuff.

In a way ... I charge by the job itself, but also I figure in what I would make an hour to help figure out the total for the job
