so I just intalled my new dvs and holders from DDP, now the bloody truck won't fire up. i tried cranking it over three times for a good 10-15 seconds each. and yes i primed it every time at least 30 times. could the dv holders be in upside down and stop the flow or am i just paranoid?

Updie down holders will still run. The mushroom flare needs to be on the bottom though. If you put the valve in wrong your SOL but thats unlikely

Did you prime the high pressure lines or the lift pump?
The lift pump shouldn't have been affected.

The flare goes on bottom like in the picture Img

Loosen the all the nuts at the injectors like 1/2 turn (making sure the line is unseated by pulling up on it helps too) but tighten the dv side. Stand on the throttle and crank it for 15 seconds. Let the starter cool and give it another 15 seconds of cranking with it floored. Fuel should be spraying everywhere at the injectors when cranking, if its not rest and give it another 15 seconds of cranking. Two times is always enough for my truck though. Putting rags over the injectors help keep things cleaner.

Then tighten the nuts back up and the truck should fire right up.

wow! just got back from the test drive. it was like a different truck!before it would take for ever for the turbo to spool up when i would first take off, now that sucker just starts flying and keeps on going! definately smokes more, im going to do my timing in a few weeks, that should be a big difference as well. our trucks are setup fairly similar, what are your dyno #'s, how do you like your timing at 17.5*?

DVs are great for spool aren't they

I can't comment on power numbers cause I've never been on the rollers. I might dyno it this summer though. It is a really hot setup though and I need more air really bad.

I like where my timings at. It make for a nice little gain above 2k. Nothing amazing though.

oh man you gotta get on a dyno, i just got on one a month or two ago before the exhaust manifold, water meth, and the dvs. once i get my timing done i will be making another trip to the rollers to see how much it went up. so do you spend more time in slo or ferndale? you should stop by on your way to or from, im probably an hour or so coastal of 5.

I got to school in slo so I spend most of my time there, and just do to ferndale for the holidays and summer. With the cost of fuel I only make as many trips as I have to.

Are you close to 101? I find that 101 has the potential to save time over the five only if traffic goes smooth
