I read on here that one can get them turned on at the dealer, so since my truck is there I asked to have them turned on. The dealer did it, but says there is one issue, when they are one, and if I turn the turn signal on, that side DRL will go out.

Any one have this issue?

Does the DRL system use the headlamp at reduced capacity or does it use the turn signal amber light as the daytime running light? If so, makes sense is goes out. If its the headlamp, may go out so you can see the turn signal is on???

Many rigs now use the bright amber light that is the turn signal as the DRL. Not sure if RAM is doing this also.

Yup, it happens every time. I know on the older style head lights the signal lights were difficult to see with the headlight on so now the drl turn off when you use your signal lights.

Thanks guys, I haven't gotten the truck back yet to look cause they are waiting for the transmission lines to come it to replace them, another TSB or recall, or something.

I remember when I got my 08 and it did that. My brother was in front of me and called me on my cell and told me I have a short because everytime I turned the signal on the light went out. Come to find out its supposed to be that way so oncoming traffic can see the signal. With the headlight on during the day its hard to see the signal.

I thought that I had a short because I could see one headlight go off in the reflection of a vehicle in front of me when turning. This post was helpful in alleviating my concerns. Funny, I noticed an oncoming vehicle turning the other day and one of their DRLs went off when their turn signal came on.
