I need to drill a small hole in the back or side of the storage slot directly below the radio in my 2009 2500 to run wires for a trailer brake controller.
Does anyone know the easiest way to remove the dash cover around the radio so I can check out what is directly behind or beside this area?
Don't want to drill without knowing what's what.
Any help would be appreciated.:confused013::confused013:

In the 2009 the dash cover over the radio and storage area can be taken off by using a small plastic wedge to start removal at the bottom corner of driver side.
I drilled a hole in the back of the storage slot and ran the wiring through this to the back of the dash and around to the connection points the controller needed.
I mounted a P3 controller in the storage slot with double sided tape and it has worked great.
Easy to see and adjust.

Don't have any pictures.
It sticks out about 2 inches and I have a GPS installed beside it.
Both are in a good position for viewing.
