Ok 1.when I got the truck it was slipping but shifted out perfect 2.so I purchased a repair dvd .pulled tranny ordered a master kit and went through the entire transmission.replacing all steels clutches seals washers 3 .planets were nice left them in .got a new tourque converter put that in 4.cleaned original valvebody and put it in truck .put new filter and oil .started truck put in gear nothing happen .put in reverse it worked good 6.read some forums the advice that guys were saying was somthing wrong inside .pulled trans back out checked every thing .looked ok inside checked clearance on clutch packs all were in ok 7.looking at input shaft I noticed there was a groove where a seal was missing .not the 2 little ones the bigger one 8.so I went to a transmission parts store and got one .9.put it on .and put all back together. 10.In the mean time a new guy said he thought it was my valvebody .11. So I got a refurbished one. And installed it . 12.Started truck and I have 2nd and 3rd and reverse. But no 1st or od.13.read some more on forums and decided pull the electronics from my old valvebody and put them on refurbished one 14.now I go test drive I have clear dash no codes .and a strong 1st 2nd 3rd and od 15. but after a mile or so a code pops up p0973.16.im back limp mode .on the forums guy say need flush and new oil 17ok .so I put a hose on rear line in a bucket drain pan put 6quarts new oil start truck neutral and pumped out about 5 quarts while adding altogether 12 new quarts oil 18.(just want say my truck shifts to park but wont start in park now)so I put line back on .19.start truck no codes got 1st and take off shifts perfect 20.after a mile or so code comes back ? And here we are.just a little history.
