why is it that when I used to cycle the ignition key 3x I used to get the trouble codes and now nothing happens?? even if you didn't have codes it would cycle thru the "program" and say , done
Try a scanner in the obd2 port. You may have lost a data connection.
Long shot you can disconnect the batteries overnight and see if it restores in that reset.
Then troubleshoot it like a diesel.
Connect a hose to the fuel bowl drain valve and put it in a bottle with the valve open. bump the starter with the key and see if fuel comes gushing out. Wouldn't hurt to change the filter. drain the bowl first into a bottle to inspect the fuel for water.
Close and bump a couple times after doing that to re prime.
Try to start.
Disconnect the grid heater big wires by the passenger battery then try a half second or less shot of starting fluid while cranking.
If it starts and runs you have a fuel delivery problem lowering rail pressure too low for the ecm to command the start.
changed the fuel filter and tried to get it to run with some ether (first time using ether on this truck) It ran for 2 seconds, no response to the gas pedal.
Will try the grid heater wires in the morning, Anyone know of a good diesel scanner for diesels?? Have a 2013 GMC 6.6 duramax, 3 Fords 7.3 power stroke and a Hino diesel.
Would be nice if the scanner worked on these makes.
