Im new to the diesel world, i bought a 2001 bout 7 months ago and about 2 weeks ago i cut pretty much the whole exhaust off. Im buying new exhaust soon but some people have told me that i can blow my engine up because i have no back pressure. Just wondering if this was true.

the turbo gives enough bp.
you'll do nothing but enjoy the open sound of a diesel engine with no muff.
are you saying you dont even have a pipe after the turbo ?

either way, your not going to blow anything up.

no i have some pipe after the turbo its cut like right behind the passenger seat, and ya it sounds really good, especially when i shift you can hear that turbo from 2 blocks away. But i notice that since i cut it i lost some power is that from bp?

you may have lost a tiny bit of bottom end due to lack of pipe since thats a 3 inch pipe i believe. not much though.

otherwise, you shouldnt be hurting anything. you should just get a straight pipe all the way back.

I cut mine off right at the front of the muffler and run it out at where the cab meets the bed..So when you got a rice boy beside you you can smoke him out:rof

+I got $10 for the old muffler :)
