I’ve got a 01 Cummins built auto trans, 2500 short bed. Going into drive it goes fine but going into reverse it makes a loud clunk. Already replaced U joints and didn’t do a thing. Any ideas?

Might check control arms.. had a work truck that I would notice a clunk if I would tap the brakes while going in reverse

Check for loose bolts on the trani mount and theck the carrier bearing including the rubber mount around it.
