I recently bought my first diesel. It runs really rough when cold. Takes about 5 minutes before I can leave the driveway or it misfires badly. Is this normal? There are no check engine lights on.
can we get a little more info on your truck? (year/trans mainly)
Sounds like maybe its got one or 2 holes with low compression that arent lighting right away. but thats just one of a million things that could be wrong.
The truck is a 2006 5.9 liter with 56000 miles on it. Runs great when warm; just rough and hesitates/misfires when cold. It does not misfire when I start the engine and remain in "park." Just does not want to go up the street when cold.
maybe the tranny fluid is too heavy to move when it's not all the way warmed up, so, try to slip it into neutral for a few minutes before ya drive off maybe...
You may have some codes that will pull with a scanner but will not set a CEL, I would have the codes pulled anyway
