Is there anyway to maybe make the engine work harder at idle to bring the EGTs up so it can warm up quicker? It would be nice to have a CSP setting just for warming up the truck in the upcoming months. High idle doesnt bring the EGTs up any higher then regular idle. Just an idea

Heck, even when you drive the truck for the first ten minutes when its cold the temp gauge doesnt move so dont see a tune doing anything at idle.

Block heater cord and be done.. Plugged in on a 25 degree night, my egt gauge will say 90deg.....

EGT's don't go up on high idle, but high idle absolutely warms up faster than normal idle.

Yep, fastest way to get the truck to warm up is pluggin her in, and if it's real cold turn on the high idle function.

Why would a 3 cyl idle not work on a CR? Just curious.

I usually put the t case in neutral and put the tranny fifth and set the rpm to about 1200. Warms up quick and makes shifting smoother

Care to elaborate?? I've never heard of a 3 cyl. idle. I guess it would cause those 3 cyl. to have higher temps but not sure that it would help warm up faster. Sounds interesting though. I like new ideas, gets people thinking.. for the better or worse haha.

It cuts out three cylinders simiulating a load on the motor thus bringing it to temp faster. Idk if crs have them or not but I believe the 24v do

Just to clarify, the only ones that have the 3 cyl idle are 98.5-02 vp trucks. I'm just curious why it couldn't be done on a cr with EFI live.

Its not a feature of the 03+ trucks like it was on VPs. Nothing to enable within the base file so no way to do so. Even if you command it with EFI Live to do so the ECM will recognize it and bring it back on. If my thinking is correct this morning. Only option is auto high idle and manual high idle if you have it enabled.

My EGTs for sure go up when high idle is maxed out.

And 100% warms up faster.

What do they go to? Mine sit around 350 or so, from memory.

Honestly, Ill have to go check. I havent used it in a while but I do specifically remember them raising.

Also, It doesnt normally idle at 350.
