As I said in post #15, the valve seats should have been cut in deeper to match the material removed from the head. You keep throwing good money after bad. At this point look for a good used engine from a wreck.

The definition I'm thinking of is him failing to do a job that should be basic to most machinists. But I get your point.

The machinist done what I ask him to do I can't blame him.I didn't check clearance's .That was on me there doesn't appear to be any damage to bottom end there is not àn indention in the piston and pushrods are straight.New head with 60 lbs springs came today

You could make it work if you really wanted to, lots of people P-pump convert 24 valves so the parts do exist in the world to make it work. But it'd be a lot more expensive / time consuming/ general hassle than its worth for only a slightly better flowing head.

This is what's happening with the head.I ordered from Dales Superstore 12 valve with heavy springs and this came.The invoice is from an engine builder about 4 hrs from me doesn't have any thing about Dales on it.I call builder and he says it's his fault and his concern is how is he going to get his head back and I told him to pick it up when he brought mine ,and he says no he wants to send a truck and pick his up today and ship mine.I don't think I'm going to do that,do you think I'm wrong

Tell him you need your head as bad as he needs his, so save a trip and bring yours.

IF he is sending a truck 4 hours , he can sure load the proper part and exchange it at the same time . Sounds like he is shady OR he doesn't have the proper part on hand .
PASS on that deal.

Well here is the new one, UPS driver dropped out of the back of van and it came out of the crate so he drug it up side down across cement stepped stones to the back door of the house and I guess to save room he folded up the head gasket!!!!you can't make this sh#t up

I just pulled a intake valve on the end that was in the dirt and can't believe how restrictive this is and the valve seat doesn't look good either

In case you don't know this, the shipper has to make a claim against UPS for the damage.

Terrible, that driver better be looking for a new job. I’m sorry they’re heavy, but if you can’t do it right, don’t do it! I thought mine was bad because the case was a bit busted up. Taking it in Monday to check for flatness.
