CPP 7x10's and a roadtrip w/ VIDS!!

Another CPP thread. LOL

I installed a set of the new 7x10's (150hp flavor) at Xmas. Turbo spooled faster over the rv's I had in it. It will smoke if you want it. but took a couple minutes to relearn driving. At least two songs on the radio's worth. :hehe: Power is nice now. Real strong feeling. No chance to dyno but I will. So far I have always dyno'd after each upgrade. I like to see the improvements. Throttle is'nt really any more sensitive then before. WOT it hit about 36-37 psi and just over 1100 egts. Stab and steer! no gauge watching needed.
Oh this is still with no box. Only a smarty and the 62/65/12 turbo. Cant wait for a box. Been told should hit 500hp. :party018:

Roadtrip:
I just got back from a roadtrip from WA to AZ and back. Had to tow my car hauler with our 70 challenger and the old D70 out of my truck on it. Carhauler way 1800, Challenger maybe 4000 and 200ish for the rear. Odd crap in the car and truck, maybe 500lbs, so around 6500lbs?
I ran down there empty, with the smarty on sw3, tq3/tim4/dur1 Averaging 70-75 mph and a lot of 80mph runs. down through US 93 from twin falls, id to phoenix Az through vegas. mpg was in the 18-18.5 range. I have 3.5 gears with 265/75/16. Its 2wd. When rolling along, add some throttle and turbo lits NOW and off we go. Passing on the 2 lane roads was fun! No downshifting either load the engine smokes(on purpose of course) and clears quickly. Easily hit 100mph staying on it passing a semi. Right before I got down to AZ I changed the duration to 4. mpg went up. best I saw over 22mpg. Never hit that before. Now FWIW driving through the desert I always top off when I hit a town. Didnt have my 100gal aux tank with me. Honestly a 100 gal semi in the back for the long roadtrips. So alot of the fillups were about 200-300 miles. I tried to fill up the same amount. I filled it by sight. High enough in the filler neck. Trying to make it consistient between tanks. After the duration high 18-19mpg were more common. Would have thought the longer duration hurt mileage? It hurt the feel of the power however:hehe: Truck seemed slugish when I dropped the duration down. Came back with it back on 4. Cruising egts, at spped was around 650 at 4.5ish psi

Once the trailer was hooked up, power was nice, easily keep up and pull ahead of normal traffic flow with out much smoke. really only a haze. More noticable at nite. But it will roll coal if I want it. I have to look at the fuel reciepts for towing mileage. IIRC it was about 14. Again going around 70mph. I did have to pass some yahoo doing 20 under.:banghead: Floored it took off ease off the throttle and was way ahead of them. could still see the smoke cloud. Felt sorry for the people following me. oops :S: That was with the trailer. No issues going around. EGT's will hit 1300+ with the trailer. With some of the hills, just kept the rpms up and it stayed cool. 900 range. Cruising at speed around 800 and 6ish psi

One thing I did notice is that know the egts, hit just under 1300 when empty, when I was down in the warmer areas. Guess ambient air temp has that much of an effect? Boost dropped to, but power didnt appear to.

Overall I love these injectors. Clean injectors. for normal towing they would work no issues. Havent got to do any of my "normal" towing, which is usually when we move and I end up GCVW of 24K  meaning a trailer of around 15K. I know I know.....:S:

So I am not stopping for my quest for power, so next is a box, then the S475. 600+hp anyone?

Jamie sorry for not reporting back as often on the injectors, but figured this roadtrip would be a good quick 3000 mile test. Oh the cores are in the mail. Sorry for the delay in em, but was afraid I might have picked up that infamous hitch hiker Murphy. I always keep the old good parts around after new installs just incase. So they are on their way back.

Thanks again!

I have a few cell phone vids of 0-100 runs. I'll post em when I get home.

Now that is some good feedback!:party018: Well worth the wait. Glad you like them Bud. 18-19mpg...and about every other sentence you talked about passing someone or 0-100mph runs. :hehe:
Ok mileage during fillups, was 17.5(had city driving before I headed out.), 18.1, 22.3 and getting into town was 19.9
While towing 14.9, 13.9(hit traffic on the high way and a construction site. Frustration is showed by the worse mpg :S:) and then 16.5 after adding 2 of the small bottles of tcw-3 2 stroke oil.

Vids:

Vid of my gages and then speedo on 0-100 with duration on 1
Tranny is my goerend with about 100K on it. Still hitting gears hard. You can see all the shifts even when the TC locks up. :)

This one was a botched attempt. Guess I hit a slick spot. Broke the tires loose and went sideways. LOL

These are in Phoenix, duration up to 4 timing down to 3. Engine light is on from just reprogramming w/ smarty

The payload:

Pre turbo close to the flange, in the back turndown.

Sounds much better in person. Didnt realize how crappy the sound was on the cellphone. Truck has a different growl to it now when I'm on it. In the todo list 5" straight too. It never ends!! :ah:

aw man, you'll absolutely love it when you go to a 5" straight!!!!!:drool2::thumbsup::party018:
5" straight is the only option IMO for our trucks, such a deep, mean tone to it, you will enjoy it.
Man that thing hits at 1800rpms don't it!! lol That thing goes real good!! Be interested to see what egts were like with a edge or quadzilla... Probably a bit higher. Nice ride for sure tho!!!!
Yea thanks guys. Also if you notice, I did the run from idle to WOT. Not the best but its makes it more repeatable. Guess the TC only flashes to 1300ish. One of Goerends earlier converters. Seems he has slightly higher stall ones now. I have read lower stalls seem to lag more and this still isnt bad. Good spool, and clean. I like this spool and this is coming from a HY. The turbo that spools before ya hit the throttle. :hehe:
I'm sold on Jamies injectors!! How can you turn down a great product and even better customer service!!! I can't wait till I can finish getting my performance stuff!!! Sux my truck needs paint rims and tires!! If it didn't need that I'd have enough for a turbo and cpp150's!! SUCK!!!!!!!

Thats my same thoughts but unfortunately in maine you can't have to much rust or you can't get an inspection sticker. My trucks been illegal since last july!! lol If you get caught driving it 6 months after the inspection is up you get arrested and have to go to court and its like a $1200 fine. Dam liberal state sucks!! Got a new governor now tho.... :stirpot: (Hes a republican!!!)

In the great state of PA, we just have to duct tape the holes shut & we get a sticker. :hehe:
Hahaha I use to stuff steel wool in the holes then bodo over them on my old car!! lol Got me a sticker but the hole would be back in about 2 months!! lol Owell.. I don't plan on driving the truck in the winter anymore so this paint job should last me a while.
I hate rust. LOL

Did another small trip, about 460 miles. 19.2 mpg :party018: ran mostly at 70mph
What revo settings on the smarty are you liking the best with this setup so far?

Some better for mileage? Some for power??
I took my first drive today with my 7x.010 sac with lift injectors, cam etc. With what's in my sig. I'm still running stock turbo and no programmer, wow I can overspool the turbo almost faster than I can catch it. The throttle response is rediculous I can't wait to upgrade my turbo and a programmer. These injectors are awesome I just can't run them at their full potential yet. Thanks Jamie another good product- I need a 4k box bad LOL!!

Not sure on the settings. Havent driven it in a while. Trying to fix my 1/4 tank issues and now with the DSV I have a air leak somewhere that causes the fuel to drain out of the line and cause hard starting. IIRC the biggest change I noticed was changing the duration on the smarty. Higher numbers smoked a bit more but was more responsive. I didnt keep the levels on long enough to notice any mpg. I just drove it and changed them according to how I like my truck to feel and left them there. :hehe:

I will have to see what my current levels are later.

Ok went out and checked. the Smarty is set at 3,4,4, IIRC torque, timing, duration? The main software is on #2. IMO with the REVO settings it basically nulls all the other softwares. Or basically the other softwares are just presets of the REVO's, So I just run #2 and adjust till I like em.
