I bought a set of cooper st maxx back in march and I noticed yesterday they are starting to crack around the rim. has anyone seen this or had the same problem and if so, did the company make good on the tires?

I've been reading a lot about this tire because I'm considering it even though it doesn't come in the size I want. From all the reading I've done, I've seen this happen one other time and when it did the company did make good on it.

Do you have any pics of what happened?

Thanks for the info. I'll take pictures tomorrow and post them on here. It's a shame other than the cracking they are great tires. I just hope I had a bad set. What part of jersey you from?

I have these tires in 275 70 18s. I will be driving home for Christmas from an Oil Rig tomorrow. I'll wash the truck up on Tuesday & have a carefull look at the tires. They were purchased 2 months ago & have about 3000 mi on them.
I'll get back to you on the tire condition.

Terrific tire in all conditions. I sure hope they are not cracking.

Well my buddy from the tire shop looked at the tires and said cooper should make good on the tires. I'll find out tomorrow and let you know how I made out.

Ouch! That doesn't look too safe. Well I'm glad to hear they're making good on it. Still, shouldn't have happened in the first place though. I'm from Morris county, how about you?

Glad you caught that early, Post blow-out they might not have been so cooperative. Do the St Maxx have a mileage warranty?

I don't believe they do, but they were only 9 months old and this happened.

I forgot all about this thread. I washed up the truck & did a carefull inspecition on the sidewalls of all four of my 275 70 18 Cooper ST Maxx tires & none of them show any signs of sidewall irregularities.

I have had the tires for 3 months & about 5000km of mixed driving. No issues & I will say again this is an outstanding tire in mud or snow & on ice.

I will keep an eye on the sidewalls & inspect again when I rotate tires in the spring.

Had the new ones installed on Thursday , with no questions asked. Hopefully this set will last longer.
