So now I am wicked confused. I know some people on here have been posting about low coolant issues. I too had this problem. 2013 and up should use OAT coolant right? says that in manual and all. But from what I have seen and read, OAT coolant is purple.

I pop open my reservoir and its orange. Orange is to be HOAT coolant.

This is a link to a good picture...

Look at the pictures towards the bottom. My coolant in my truck is Orange.

What do you guys think and what color is your coolant?

HOAT which Chrysler was using prior to 2013 was orange in color. OAT which all 2013+ should have is purple in color. Makes it easy and expensive for me. Both my truck and Car (13 Dart) use the same coolant.

Mine looks the same as your pictures Kirwin. Thanks for posting. When I first got mine I gave everything a visual and the coolant looked a little low. I added about a pint of distilled water and brought it up to the inspection line that was drawn on the reservoir. It has remained there since then.

Check out pictures in the thread in post 4 above. Brown & orange looks the same through the bottle. Put a good brite drop light behind the bottle under the hood and you'll see what I mean. Its redish prurple. Look at my pictures I'd swear the coolant was dirty orange without a very good light. K D

here is the coolant that I was given and used to top off my truck. it is the MS-12106 spec that my truck calls for. it also says OAT right on the label on the back. the top of the reservoir bottle has a sticker on it that says MS-12106

i am relieved, i got the right stuff. i mixed it 50/50 with distilled h2o

my truck was built 5/2013. my coolant appeared more orange than purple. if they put the wrong stuff in it, fault is on them and they will have to fix it

I would most likely suspect that it's just how it looks viewing it through the tank. It appears to be more orange/brown like in my truck.

Its possible that the truck had a coolant leak and the coolant was replaced with the wrong stuff? Maybe before the dealer sold it? The purple coolant was hard to find initially. Ken Irwin
