My 2002 6.9 4 wheel drive 4.11 gears auto runs fine, but it seems that the converter or the overdrive kicks in and out between 40-45 mph a friend told me to clean the ground wires where the bolt to the Body. I found three small ground wires cleaned them with sandpaper and re tightened them it seamed to help for a short time. Any suggestions how to resolve this issue?

clean your battery terminals too. also check and see how tight your clamps are on your post. another thing is have your batteries checked to see if one is bad. if nothing from there then have your alternator checked as well.

Yes I removed the battery terminals cleaned them and took the truck out for a ride problem solved, Thanks

Ill bet its going to come back. Ive herd of these temporary fixes because i too have the same problem at 35mph. But heres what ive found.

I guess if it comes back I will look at this solution, When I first went in a cleaned up the grounds it was fixed for a short time.

almost every time mine comes back there is something else wrong with the truck. you can trace it back to the problem area most of the time. my last time i had a bad battery.....well 2. any little bad connection will cause a problem. the filter aids in giving a better signal. you may and may not need it.

I cleaned all my grounds really well and did an apps re wire at the same time and havent' gotten it back again... don't have the link anymore but im sure somebody out there does... been gone for a couple months now lets hope it all holds out
