comprehensive total frontend replacement kit?

1228 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  gary502
well 100% of the frontend components under my truck are completely worn out. I'm looking to see if anyone knows if there's a reputable company out there that makes all these parts and sells them as a kit? basically I need everything from, and including the steering box, all the way out to the knuckles. this also includes control arm bushings. I can look each part up individually but with how weak these frontends are I was hoping there was a total replacement kit. also I would not be opposed to installing a 4-6" lift kit on the truck if it came with some of these parts. anyone?

Control arm bushings?
Same Boat I'm In

I just ordered a DT Profab kit but sounds like you will need more.
Hopefully you will do a search and come up with something better.
As a newb that just traded up from a Jeep Liberty 2.8 CRD Diesel, my perspective is probably a little different.
Control arm bushings?
the 4 bars that run basically parallel with that ground that mount between the frame rails and the front axle. the bushings in them are wasted and I either have to replace the bushings or just find a nice upgrade get and get all new arms.

Oh that's right, I was thinking how could you have control arms on a solid front axle.. opps

I actually switched out all 8 control arms on my Jeep TJ. with something like this..
Rokmen HD-Lower Control Arms

They use a heim joint instead of the bushing.. in fact I broke 3 or 4 of the stock ones before upgrading.
Look into Carli. They make complete lift kits that come with sway bar end links and an adjustable track bar. They also sell some of the best ball joints and you can also buy a set of arms from them. All kinda pricey but quality stuff. Synergy suspension has similar products aswell.
Bought all my control arms from topgunzcustoms, they have them for specific lift sizes. Great tubular design, bushings have a grease fitting. Around $300 on sale shipped! For the rest of the front end... this guy has a T-bar set up for around $300 from RockAuto (part #'s in the ad.) Most likely what is my next purchase.

DT Profab Order Shipped

I kind of pushed the envelope on the parts order.
Dave called from DT Profab asking about the front end.
So, it was getting dark, laid down in the ice and wet to measure.
They pulled the steering linkage from the package to measure the 3rd gen parts to see if it would fit. Gen 2 is 3 inches narrower than gen 3 by my measurements.
Seems like I read where someone cut the Gen 3 bar down about 3" to get it to fit Gen 2.
98 was an either or year, gen 2 or 3, mine is 2 or parts of it are....
Will start a thread when i get my kit.
Big bucks.
You guys are gonna snicker at my sticker shock, but I want to go into this once and be done, promptly.
so basically what you're saying is 3rd gen parts will fit but I need to mod the heck out of it all to fit?
