Wow
So was putting in some bigger braided fuel lines going from my aftermarket fuel filters (Baldwin BF1212 & CAT 1R-0750) and just happened to removed the outlet from the filter housing to where the new line was going to go and found it completely rusted out inside of the fitting. I was like umm did I take off the wrong fitting? Well after a more in depth inspection I found my water/fuel separator (BF1212) looked like this....luckily I had my stock fuel filter canister still in place. The BF1212 was replaced at 112,634 miles. The truck currently has 127,679. Took apart all the lines after the stock fuel filter and they looked clean. This was a scary one.

Wow good thing that kit is on there! My dual filters have 12k on them and I was procrastinating on ordering them up. Looks like it's time!

Nah this was the kit that was throwing all that into my system, luckily I was procrastinating on doing a fuel filter delete. The baldwin filter is post pump and must have failed or idk? Because my lines going into the dual filter system are relatively clean. Is 15,000 a lot for a BF1212? This thing took a complete dump on me...

The banjo bolt going into my stock fuel filter. The BF1212 was obviously not separating any water

May have been a faulty filter. Might call Baldwin and see what they say. We use them on all the equipment at work except the John Deeres. They have good customer support.

Looks Like you got a very bad tank of fuel or 2 and the Baldwin filtered all it could handle!!! Do you ever get under your truck and drain the Baldwin to check for water??? You are supposed to every month or so. Not to be a Smart A$$ but that is why it has a drain on it!!! 15,000 is max on those filters under the best of conditions!!! They are too cheap not to replace more often!!!

Ditto that, I would change fueling stations. Looks like a lot of water in your fuel.

I've been driving across the country lately so it could have been bad fuel from who knows where. I am pretty consistent about draining the filter for water. It was definitely on its last leg anyway...

A lot of users are adamant on removing the stock filter stating that it's not needed anymore. Your pictures are exactly why I kept my stock filter. Nothing like a little free insurance.
I normally go 15k for the dual filters (2 years for me) and 30k for the stock filter.
