Alright maybe a little rant here but bear with me, I have spent the past year and a half reading backwards on the general discussion, out of over 16k thread titles I have but a mere 4400 to go! Tons and tons of very great information and very helpful members along with plenty of Richard Chranium and many threads that could have been brought back to life with little or no ridicule!, First off please, please for the benefit of all forum members, if you start a thread with a problem, please wrap it up with the end result. Nothing more irritating than reading into an interesting thread with 50, 100 or more posts and no conclusion! Second probably not a good idea to start an oil thread(veterans no exactly what I mean) third I cannot tell you guys how many times the same question gets asked within just a few threads of each other, not really a problem, just allot of redundancy that a little reading could prevent, I love this forum! Thirdly, it is your truck, asking what to do to it only you can answer, because it is most definitely money driven, what the truck is used for, and most of all personal preference, great place to find what others like and dislike and would and wouldn'ts and should do and definitely not do! Sucks I lost lots of screen shots I took along the way, so that is a big breath, I am going to go back and keep reading from where I left off. Feel free to bash or support me I am a big boy and will be starting my upgrade thread before long! Happy new year everyone and enjoy that sweet smell of diesel and humm of the inline!!!

Well I have about 2400 thread topics to still read and I have learned a great deal and still encourage anyone and everyone especially new members to read, read and read some more! No I don't read every thread but I do read every topic and stop and read the entire threads I find interesting! I have been at this for 2years!
Symptoms of bad egr or injectors ??? https://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1557610 is another thread that got my attention, because no conclusion on why this guy had to replace his whole fuel system.

My favorite threads are the ones that start with, I know this has been covered a million time buttt..... or the better yet I'm too lazy to search can you just tell me..... it would be nice if more followed up with fixes but if they're to lazy to search their clearly to lazy to be helpful.

I have read through so many threads! Some of which people genuinely needed help and only made one or two posts and no one helped them, so as newbies they disappeared(right now I am only about to early/mid 2014) and still reading "General discussion".Then so many threads when the Great Forum tries and does help people, and no courtesy for the rest of us to post any conclusions on their issues.

Wow
So was putting in some bigger braided fuel lines going from my aftermarket fuel filters (Baldwin BF1212 & CAT 1R-0750) and just happened to removed the outlet from the filter housing to where the new line was going to go and found it completely rusted out inside of the fitting. I was like umm did I take off the wrong fitting? Well after a more in depth inspection I found my water/fuel separator (BF1212) looked like this....luckily I had my stock fuel filter canister still in place. The BF1212 was replaced at 112,634 miles. The truck currently has 127,679. Took apart all the lines after the stock fuel filter and they looked clean. This was a scary one.

Wow good thing that kit is on there! My dual filters have 12k on them and I was procrastinating on ordering them up. Looks like it's time!

Nah this was the kit that was throwing all that into my system, luckily I was procrastinating on doing a fuel filter delete. The baldwin filter is post pump and must have failed or idk? Because my lines going into the dual filter system are relatively clean. Is 15,000 a lot for a BF1212? This thing took a complete dump on me...

The banjo bolt going into my stock fuel filter. The BF1212 was obviously not separating any water

May have been a faulty filter. Might call Baldwin and see what they say. We use them on all the equipment at work except the John Deeres. They have good customer support.

Looks Like you got a very bad tank of fuel or 2 and the Baldwin filtered all it could handle!!! Do you ever get under your truck and drain the Baldwin to check for water??? You are supposed to every month or so. Not to be a Smart A$$ but that is why it has a drain on it!!! 15,000 is max on those filters under the best of conditions!!! They are too cheap not to replace more often!!!

Ditto that, I would change fueling stations. Looks like a lot of water in your fuel.

I've been driving across the country lately so it could have been bad fuel from who knows where. I am pretty consistent about draining the filter for water. It was definitely on its last leg anyway...

A lot of users are adamant on removing the stock filter stating that it's not needed anymore. Your pictures are exactly why I kept my stock filter. Nothing like a little free insurance.

I normally go 15k for the dual filters (2 years for me) and 30k for the stock filter.
