Theres no downfall other than more turbo wistle. Dont get one with an oiled filter, get a CAI that has an oiless filter than can be cleaned. A filter that needs oil, such as K&N, the turbo will suck the oil out of the filter into the turbo which will collect dirt. BHAF's are great aswell, they are not CAI but gets the job done at a good price.

Vulcan performance, BHAF. Unless you're running a big turbo or have massive air flow requirements.. Just this $60 filter will flow ALL the air you need. I actually sold my AFE stage 2 for pocket money and threw on this filter, noticed no lack of power, mpg, throttle response, nothing.

Just my .02

:agree2:

Go with a oil less filter. Oil can also collect throughout the intercooler and on the IAT/MAP sensors and everywhere. You can also get a dry disposable filter as well and just replace them that way you know everytime its perfectly clean and no holes in the media.

I'm gonna be THAT guy and say "if you aren't full retard and know how to oil an oiled filter, you'll have 0 issues" :stirpot:

I've had mine for years, no problems. It's called using your brain. So instead of knocking the filter lets knock the retards out there who over-oil and suck it into the turbo

I'm with Black. not the filters fault.. have had mine for 11 years. never a speck of dirt or oil on the turbo. I didn't get BHAF. I drilled 5- 2" holes in the bottom of the stock box CAREFULLY and it dropped egt's about 100 degrees approx. never gets over 1250 now even on longest hills towing. Total cost spent...oh wait, it was free!!!! Everyone has an opinion and that what these forums are for. good luck

Yup Imma have to agree with the two above me. If you know how to properly oil an oiled filter you will have zero issues. Go with S&B good product and they offer both oiled and non oiled filters. I have the oiled version and have had no issues.
