could a bad crank sensor cause the low voltage? possibly causing my lift pump to mysteriously not work sometimes? lift pump and vp44 are new 5000 miles ago. every now and then the tach will drop to nothing then come backup and cruise has mind of its own, someone told me this could be caused by the crank sensor
The truck computer-PCM, sends 5vdc to the sensors/APPS in this case and depending on the position of the throttle, gets a voltage sent back. When it doesn't get a voltage back or the wrong anticipated voltage, it'll set a DTC.
A bad wiring connection can also set these low signal/no signal codes, that's why the connector to the APPS needs checking and APPS reset.
