hello have 2002 2500 ho showing code 1693 when hooking up to computer showing injection pump timing failure installed new transfer pump this past Dec.everone i talk to say it is the injection pump it only has 88,000 on it has been dead pedaling on and off for appox. two years and has just started dead pedaling upon startup and showing blue smoke then it picks back up and is fine.Also where do i need to go to find directions on how to change out injection pump? Thanks for any help.know enough to get in trouble about diesel.

It sounds more like your APPS is malfunctioning. 1693 is a companion code indicating the PCM saw a problem with the ECM. replace the APPS and have the code erased.
