I'm getting a south bend Con Ofe put in on tuesday. Is there any thing special I should do? Like turn down or off smarty, no towing, or anything else?

Most recommend going easy for about 500 miles. You will feel it grab pretty hard for the first couple hundred miles but it will start getting easier.

You can tow, and leave the smarty on a lower setting. It will be hard to burn up a new clutch if you are not near the power rating.

Please post your impressions a few hundred miles down the line, will 'ya. Everybody seems to have a different opinion of the conversion. One thing in common though,it holds much better and you lose the shutdown noise.

I have a 3250 dual disk so i'm not sure how much that changes the break-in, but I talked to Peter before I changed mine and asked him the same question. His response was to drive the truck like a normally do. He said if I baby it and it starts getting grabby to go do some burnouts and get it good and hot. He pretty much said to drive it like I stole it.

The instructions that came with mine said 400 miles of stop and go city driving taking it easy on it. I turned the smarty jr off, did about 1000 miles of normal driving (I'm not in a city much). Then I did one week on level 1, on week on level 2, and then set it on level three and drove it how I liked. :)

My clutch is still grabby after 20K miles, but it doesn't slip.

Thanks for the feed back. I will post impressions after some use to let you know what I think of everyday driving. In 4weeks I will be towing a little bit, 10,000lbs.
