2019 ram 2500 6.7

Clunk happens every time I left off of the throttle from low speeds. It's most harsh around 25-30. Checked U joints, play in the drive shaft, is this normal? It doesn't do it above speeds of 50.

Agreed. The 2016 and 2007 were both clunky monkeys.
Just like when you go to the Dr and say "it hurts when I do this" and the Dr says "then don't do that".
Same principle. I just try to drive around chopping the throttle in those conditions.

Back in the 70’s my dad called it the Chrysler Clunk! Something to do with the way the old Torqueflite 727 transmission shifted under part or no throttle. My 2016 Ram 2500 does it sometimes.
Seems the little gremlin has survived many generations of engineering work arounds!

^Haha and my dad used to say the electrical systems in Dodges are so bad it doesn’t even need to rain to short something out. Happens if a dog pees on a tire!

But them Days are past. For the electronics. And considering that the trans isn’t a descendant of the 727 and the axle is not a corporate or Dana…..
Although even though our 07 was a G56 truck you may be on to something. Our Duramax with the same AAM axle never clunked and I always assumed it was in the axle but could be in the trans or t case.
