Just want to give a shout out to @DDP Motorsports for getting me a city diesel actuator. I was finally able to get the old one ripped off and replaced with the city diesel today.
I pulled the front right tire off and wheel well liner, then disconnected the radiator hose from the y-pipe to drain in a bucket. I got about 4 gallons out. Then I unhooked the old wire harness on the old actuator. Removed the four 5mm hex screws. The bottom left one is a complete ***** to get to. I checked by turbo vanes for movement, it moved freely!! I was so relieved!
So I Got that out, and got the city diesel put together. Mounted and torqued to turbo. Put the wheel well back in, which was probably the hardest part of the entire job.Put the wheel back on and torqued. Refilled with OAT, checked for leaks, let it idle for a while and took it for a spin. This thing acts like a totally different and new truck!! Exhaust brake is killer and just love everything about this setup. Iβm going to let it cool down and finish topping off with OAT and I will be done. I apologize for not getting more pictures. Itβs a pretty easy job though, about 4 hours. Better then paying someone else to do it!
On a final note, Iβm kind of curious if the actuator has been failing for a while, because with my tunes from CPS, this thing runs like a mean sumbitch now, and makes more peak boost then it has before. Overall Iβm a VERY HAPPY customer. Thank you DDP!!
