This has probably been discussed a 100 times but I can’t find the thread.

I have a 2017 that I need to change the CCV filter. Are the Fleetguard just as good to use as the factory filters?


Is it a pretty easy and self explanatory install?

Easier than changing your oil. Simply remove cover on top of motor. I forget what size socket. An 8mm I think. Gonna need a deep socket for two of the screws towards the 10/11 o’clock position. Once you lift the cover the filter is as easy as pulling the old one out and putting the new on in. No special tricks necessary.

Fleetguard is owned by Cummins so yea, they are okay to use on your engine

turn key to ON/RUN (but do not start motor). Press and release brake pedal 2 times. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly 2 times within 10 seconds. Then turn ignition off.

start engine, message should be reset (gone)

One can get a genuine Fleetguard CCV Filter from Amazon at a somewhat better price.

I got the filter changed this morning and reset the perform service light. Thanks for the information.
