Guys,
If you use that GDP kit with the 90 degree hose, breather and plug for the turbo inlet can't you just throw away your old CCV filter and run without it?

Why not. They have no clue and put that thing in by mistake. The 5.9 does not have one. Take it out and never look back. Oil will leak because the CCV filter is the gasket. You will smell fumes in the cabin but hey why not.

The open breather kit is designed to run with the factory ccv filter.

Ahhh. You're right. Forgot about the gasket being part of the filter. Thanks.
