I have a 2011 4x4 cc. I am thinking i am going to get the carli starter kit. I get mixed reviews on if i need to get the control arms or not. For the guys who got the kit with out the control arms than got them later, is it worth just forking the money out for them right way. I am not sure if i am going to run 325/70/17 on a stock rim or 35's on aftermarket wheels.

If your looking for a little softer ride, go with thuren.

Thuren is also focused on offroad performance but is alot cheaper.

As far as control arms go, you dont need them unless you plan on driving aggressively threw whoops and what not. You can always just get some control arms later down the road. Although it is better to get control arms because they articulate alot better than the stockers (they dont bind), the bushings are alot stronger, some control arms are bent for tire clearance and most importantly they push your axle back to center since they are a half inch longer after you lift your truck.

I recommend buying a steering box stabilizer and a trac bar when you loft your truck to avoid death wobble.
(Carli trac bars are identical to thuren trac bars, one might cost more though)

Also the "T-style" steering helps alot with the handling of the truck

You don't need them off the bat. 35" tires on stock wheels are fine. For aftermarket wheels, stick to a 5.5"-6" backspacing and no wider than 9".

Upgrade your arms when the stock bushing are done, bigger tire than 35", more serious offroad use, or if your going to run some crazy wheel backspacing.

Hit it on the head!

If you are staying with stock sized wheels and 35's or smaller you won't "need" control arms. Going to wider/less backspace wheels is the main reason that guys upgrade other than replacing worn/bent/broken stock control arms.

If you do decide to go with a weird offset later on, check with pure performance's control arms. Don't know much about any others.
