alright i took my fuel filter out and drained the whole tank thing and then cleaned the inside out. after i put the filter in a hit the gas to supply fuel to the tank and then when to start it and it started then chuga chuga'd and then died so i undid the top and checked if i had fuel in there and i didnt so i went and bought some fuel and filled it up and it still wont start. i cant even get it to come out of the spot where you check fuel pressure at. what do i do now to get it to suck fuel and start?

to prime your fuel system you need to bump your starter and bleed the air out of the system. turn the key and let the engine crank for a split second then release the key and allow it to stay in the on position, you'll hear the lift pump running.

while thats happening you want to open up the drain valve on the bottom of the filter housing until fuel flows heavily from it, then you want to close the valve and quickly move over to the vp44 and push in on the pressure check valve to bleed the air from the lines going into the vp44, hold this valve until fuel flows from it.

now it should start right up, it may run like crap for a minute or so but thats normal, let it run for a few mins and it will smooth out

That's a new one on me. I'll have to try that next time.

Bump the starter and listen for the fuel pump to run. If you don't hear anything then take the top off the fuel filter canister and see if fuel comes spewing out. If it does then grab a 3/4" wrench and loosen the injection lines on cylinders 1 and 3 (not all the way loose but a couple of turns) on the top of the head. With someone in the truck cranking watch for fuel to spurt out. As soon as it does tighten the nut back down. Once you've got fuel in both lines then just start cranking. It'll run rough but it'll clear up with a quick drive.

All you've done is air lock the motor. It's not a big deal at all. Just need to bleed the lines.
