My Truck Has Only 14,000 Miles On It, And The Dealer Said My Front Rotors Are Overheated & Warped! A New Front Brake Job Needs To Be Done. Warranty Only Good For 12months/12,000 Miles! I Asked Him: Shouldn't Rotors Last A Little Longer? He Said It Depends On Your Driving Habits. I Think Dodge Uses Cheap Brake Parts. Your Thoughts?:$::$:

I think if they are right about the need to replace the brakes and rotors, then you use them enough to warrant buying better replacement parts. For the price they want to do the job, I'm sure you can get better brakes with new rotors and do the job yourself, and still about break even.

I haven't done a brake job, but they can't be that difficult. I'm sure ther is a write-up in the tech forum on brake/ rotor replacement.

Also I'd get a second opinion on whether you need one. I have 12K miles on my 07 and my pads have lots of wear left on 'em. Good luck, and post if you need help.:thumbsup

Well they don't put the best in there. but I believe its the pads that are bad. I had one truck brand new and had that trouble. Problem was I was to cheap and nieve to think that changing the pads would fix it. The pads seemed to last forever and my rotors were warping every 15000km. dodge actually turned them the first time. if i was to buy brand new again, I would spend the 100 bucks and change out the pads with a good quality pad and take my chances. Don't help your case any. As now you have to either turn or get new rotors and brake pads.

My back pads are good...fronts went bad at about 30k....rotors were fine.
I tow around 13-14k almost daily , but keep the trailer brakes turned up pretty tight.

Just bad luck on your part. Unless the quality has gone down hill since '99.
I still have my original rotors with 175k on them and regularly carry heavy trailers.
