I'm going to pressure wash the engine compartment, clean up the rust, and paint. Wondering if the torque converter and transmission can get wet while I pressure wash. Anything else I should worry about getting well?

Spray it, don't drown it, and you'll be fine.

Wouldn't worry about any of it. There are a few bits you wouldn't want water in when you fired the truck up -- the PDC, perhaps, but that'll dry well before you put your batteries back in. Anything that absolutely can't get contaminated is already completely sealed (You drive in the rain, right? Water goes everywhere.). Your motor is out so the things I'd be a little concerned about high pressure water (The alternator, some connections, the breather on the tappet cover) aren't an issue. Hose 'er down.
