Was that all highway or a mix? There are a couple dozen things that affect fuel mileage. Driving habits, vehicle weight, altitude, temperature, traffic, air filter and tire size to name a few. For instance, I can influence my mileage by 2 or more MPG by just doing jack rabbit starts and stops. I'm sure you have heard of driving as if there were eggs on the accelerator and the brake pedal. Just a couple days ago a 2nd gen passed me with a haze coming from the tail pipe. I know for a fact that the driver couldn't see it in his mirrors because it dissipated quickly. If you can honestly say your driving habits are good it is time to look at tuning if that is highway mileage.

So I bought my first diesel, a 1994 12 valve 4x4 today. I'm wondering what the best additives to use for fuel mileage are? I know that 2 stroke oil helps, but how much per tank, and does it matter if it's premium or not? Grateful for any help, thanks.
Well it finally happened. I haven’t torn into it yet but was wondering if these New Venture 4500 Transmission Repair, NV4500 guys were still the way to go? There are companies on eBay and amazon that offer the same style fix for half the price, anybody had good results with the cheaper option?

This is a synthetic oil that comes in a 4.75 gallon container. The 5 gallon claim is a mistake.
