I'm looking at buying a megacab and I found one I like, except it has roof lights. I know some people like them, but I don't particularly like cab lights. Is there an easy way to remove them? Like rubber plugs to fill the holes in the roof? Thanks for any info.

Well, not to once more be the guy with bad news, but here goes. Your roof will have 5 large holes in it. There is no way to cleanly, in a cheap fashion, remove the factory cab lights and cover the holes. Professional body work or a new roof would need to be done.

So.....jump on the band wagon or look at another truck!
OK, thanks for the info. It sucks how many Megacabs have cab lights. Cab lights aren't that bad, but I would personally prefer not to have them. Guess I will move on and continue to look...

Personal preference of course. I happen to like them. You'd actually have 15 holes in the roof. 5 large holes for the lights, and 10 smaller holes for the screws. I suppose if you got the truck for a decent price you could get a good body guy to fill them in.

I'm with you. I'm not a fan of them. I wouldn't buy a truck with them. But I do like led roof bars. So go figure.

How the HELL could someone NOT like how roof lights look? I don't get it.
I'm not saying they are horrible looking or anything. They are just not something I would choose for my own truck. I think they have their place on the right truck.

I spoke to a local Dodge dealer's body shop, and they quoted me $650 to fill the holes with welded in sheet metal, sand it down, and paint it. So, that is probably what I'm going to do. Either that or leave them on there. They may grow on me.

If its a dark color truck, maybe you can just get smoked lenses so they are not visible as much?

If you can stand the look of a LED light bar on the roof, that could help you cover the existing holes. Most hardware stores have "blanks" that fill the hole, add some epoxy and whala its sealed!

when I get my pickup fixed from the hail damage, I'm going to see if the body shop will get a new roof top that has the cab lights on it.. (they are going to replace the entire top, so why not)

the reason why I like clearance lights, the 76 Power Wagon my dad had, came with them and I think they look awesome.

Long story on my roof lights, short end. I payed doubled for that to have mine removed. 650 that's a good price.
