I am not sure but, I think you have to have Crazy Larry or there might be a program on:thumbsup: their website to remove it. I also have a pmt and I had crazy larry. Then I updated it and they took crazy larry away. Now I just use it for gauges. I now have the smarty and it removes torque management.

If it's legit? If I was gonna post up some BS I'd make it something good like I made 800 hp on the rollers, or I ran in the 11's on the track, or how I just won male porn star of the year, not BS codes to remove tq mgmt.

so what is the advantage of removing it?
It allows you instant access to power that is normally brought on gradually, based on info that the speed sensor sends to the ECM.

Tq mgmt is used to put less strain on drivetrain components, and cause less emissions because of your truck getting less fuel down low before the turbo lights.

I don't believe it changes anything once you're up to speed.

by removing the torque management i gain 2 tenths of a secon at the track. I felt a slight difference with it removed but the biggest was when the low end power is on.

I would not try turning off the TM feature (shift defueling). It does not fuel any harder it simply fools the ECM into believing the truck is a standard transmission (your gear indicator will disapear) and it will fuel straight thru shifts thus being very bad for stock trans......

^^^ agree. i dont turn off tq mgmt. i use low end fueling. thats keeps the trans somewhat safe. im darn near fully spooled by 1500 rpms with the stocker... i also just updated the bdtd off the bullydog site to the newest 2.5.3 and holycow does it pull!! this tune really runs on my truck. i tried just about all of the 2.4d 2.4.1 2.4.3. waled on my buddies 01 24v the other day. he never had a chance.

VERY interesting. I've always seen where people say 2.4D is the strongest for the 3rd gen crowd....but you have better luck with the brand new file. Craziness. I may have to find another BD to play with.

Don't get me wrong 2.4d is a strong tune just egts get out if control with the stock turbo. With the newer tune I max out egt at 1500 And at about 80mph they start coming down. And even with low end fueling on my mpg are about the same. So I get the best of all worlds.
