i ordered brakes for my truck not knowing that they have two different GVW for these axles! so i went to put them on and they would work i went back to the part store and they said that i needed heavy duty brake pads and 12in shoes! Heck i though a regular dana 60 was heavy duty lol so what axles do i have i know their is a 4,500lbs axle what else is their? :confused013:

If your using axles from a Cummins then you need brakes for a 4500 lb front axle. Rear axle can be 12x2.5 or 12x3 shoes. If your using the RC axles, fronts are anything but 4500 lb, rear is likely 11" drums, may be 10" but 85 is about when the 11 became standard.
2wd front brakes are a little more confusing, I've seen the small brakes on the front of a 2wd dually.

If you have the rear axle from a cummins truck it's a dana 70.
