Have a 91 that had soft pedal and was losing fluid out of front compartment so I replace master cylinder twice and still had toubles was suggested to me that might be air in anti lock valve in back and to plub around it so am now in the process of doing that. could the proportional valve be bad? What would happen if I bypassed it? The proportional valves are $180 dollars and are special order.

Very seldom do portortional valves go bad. The ABS controll valve is a known problem with them giving a soft pedal.

Ditto on the Rear Anti Stop Valve. They are a hazard and a nuisance.

Just bypass the valve. You might check to see if the controller is unhooked. It is mounted on the firewall behind the glove box.
