Recently sold my '05, had it five years and knew it pretty well inside and out as I did my own maintenance and mods. Now I just bought a '10 6.7 and am learning all over again, so please bear with me. To boot, this one has mods done by PO (see sig), so I am learning about those as well.

First thing I'd like to ask is about the boost. The Mini Maxx displays 0-3 PSI typically normal driving around town, or at cruise on the highway. This seems low, but maybe this is the norm with the S463? I gave it full throttle in 4th, and saw it display 27, but was honestly watching the road more than the display! Pulls great, but again seems low, just not sure what I should expect out of this combo. There is plenty of whistle for sure.

The PO said the truck has a +80 HP EFI Live tune, and is not running on a tune from the Mini Maxx. But he wasn't super knowledgeable on this stuff either. I can say I haven't seen any smoke, maybe a light haze. I like the thought of a tune selector switch I've seen for EFI Live once I have a good understanding of all this.

Also, the truck has no pyro so I'd like to add that. I read that I can get that into the Mini Maxx using parts from Bully Dog.

Cruising boost seems normal; wot boost could be normal given how small the tune is (mine does 50psi, but it’s max effort, which is effectively about a 300hp tune).; I can’t help on using bullydog parts to run the pyro since I prefer my isspro gauges on the pillar.

Thanks for the input. I'm still figuring things out. Truck runs good, no issues, just need to understand the setup better.

Today I found where to check the setup on the Mini Maxx. It shows that the mild tune is installed. So this seems to indicate an EFI tune is not on the truck. Wonder if I'm safe to try the other box tunes that should be on the MM? What I mean is, is there a chance there is an EFI tune on the truck, and downloading a tune from the MM would screw something up?

Also figured out that the manifold is from High Tech Turbo, and apparently discontinued.

The bully dog pyro kit will work with the Mini Maxx. I would highly consider MCC tuning from Anarchy if you are indeed running box mini maxx tunes. The box tunes are way behind the times. If it is indeed EFI live tunes, then tuning with the mini maxx will wipe them. I have had my truck in a state where the mini maxx was not unlocked so it said the tunes were loaded, but there were, in fact, EFI live tunes on it.

Best bet is to get good efi live tunes from a reputable tuner. The MMs tuning was a cause for alot of headaches and thinner wallets.

I agree, just keep in mind $225 for MCC compared to ~$1300 for EFI from CA with comparable trans tuning

Wow, EFI will have to wait. Since I just laid out a lot of dough with the truck purchase, I'm not going to be spending that kind of money for EFI right now. I wouldn't need trans tuning for my G56, but I'm guessing that won't reduce the cost much.

I am thinking of contacting Anarchy about purchasing an updated/custom tune or tunes for my specific setup to use in the MM for now.

Here is the settings screen so you can see the numbers.


Is it safe to say there is not an EFI Live tune on it? Or is there no way to be sure?

I'd bet that's H&S box tuning installed. Contact anarchy and get MCC tuning. That box tuning isn't HG friendly
