Was looking in to buying guages and autometer offers both 35 and 60 psi boost gauges. Will I ever need more than 35 on a mildly modified truck? Stock now. Have no Idea how much boost these trucks can make. Thanks guys this forum is great...
I have an Isspro 40 psi gauge, and can get about 37 now, with just the #100 plate slid about halfway.
I'm sure it will increase when the trans and turbo are upgraded, and I may need the 60 myself.
The stock HX35 is good for about 35psi, then it gets out of it's efficiency range and starts actually heating the air as it compresses it, and that raises the egt's more.
ya a 30 or 35 psi gauge is pretty much worthless on a diesel IMO. on any diesel. i have the mods in my sig and im hitting 38-40 as well with a slipping trans.
Yah my 98 with no mods to the turbo at all runs up to about 32psi at times and I only have the 35psi gauge. Gonna have to upgrade after I do a few mods I have planned tho
