boost fooler questions

so how does a boost fooler work? just wanting to do a little playing and thought about the smoke switch but could prolly designe my own boost fooler any help?:peelout:$:

i thought that it tricked the wastegate to open later and at a higher pressure than stock. so it lets your turbo biuld more boost
